When I asked the mother of the 6-year-old who is gay if she has a question for her son, she replied: “He has no idea what it means.”
She said that she has “never seen a kid so confused about being gay” and is “trying to figure out how to explain it to him.”
For parents of gay kids, it’s an incredibly challenging task.
Parents must constantly remind their kids that being gay is not a choice.
Parents also have to keep in mind that many kids who are not gay will never choose to be gay.
In fact, it is estimated that one in seven children who are gay will eventually decide to be straight.
So, parents who are trying to find a child who might one day be gay must also be on the lookout for any signs that they might be a danger to themselves.
